About Us....
Where we are located....
The Kishwaukee Valley Storm is based in Sycamore, Illinois. Our
home games are played at the
Sycamore High School,
Sycamore Park Sports Complex in Sycamore and Kishwaukee
Community College. Our winter practices are held at
Sycamore High School Fieldhouse, DeKalb Sports and Recreation Center and our new
indoor facility for hitting and pitching, The Kage, located at 1600 E. Lincoln
Highway in DeKalb.

History of our program....
The
name “Sycamore Storm” began appearing in the early 1990’s as part of the
Sycamore Girls Softball Organization. The teams played in All-Star tournaments under the Storm name.
In 1992 the first official
Storm tryouts are held for a 12U team.
This began the run of consecutive years under the Storm name.
Early coaches for the Storm were Kelly Forest, Jack Mapes and
Matt Andersen. It was a
requirement of the day that girls that played with Storm also played
with the Sycamore Girls Softball teams.
During the late 1990’s
player numbers dictate taking players outside the Sycamore boundaries.
This allowed the Storm to field teams during these years as
competitiveness issues arose and some girls began playing for other
organizations.
In 2001 the Sycamore Storm
split from the Sycamore Girls Softball organization.
The Sycamore Storm name is retained.
2001 also marked the first year for the annual Storm Dayz
tournament.
In the fall of 2005 the
Sycamore Storm board voted to change the name of the organization to the
Kishwaukee Valley Storm and held their first tryouts in August of that
year. Those tryouts yielded eight
teams from 10U to 16U, representing 14 communities and 93 talented young
ladies.
In 2007, the first 18U KV
Storm team was added to the organization.
During that year Storm teams gathered 17 trophies, including 4
tournament championships. By far
our most successful year!
In 2008, the KV Storm presented
9 teams that will compete next summer from the 10U to 18U levels.
The 8th Annual
Storm Dayz tournament in June of 2008 was again a huge success.
Winners of the Storm Dayz Tournament went on to claim 1st Place and 2nd
place trophies at National Tournaments.
For 2009, the Storm organization will field 7 teams for competition.
This will include teams at all 5 levels and the third year for the 18U
program. The Storm will again provide the Velocity Training
Program during an eight week program over the winter months. This
program allows us to fine tune our running and agility skills. We
are looking forward to a great 2009 and are happy to have you all with
us for the ride!!
In 2010, seven teams competed for the Storm organization. The
Velocity training program was continued for the third year. The
Storm finished the season sending four teams to National Tournaments.
The 2011 Storm teams continued the winning tradition of our program.
The 18U team brought home the first place trophy at our own Storm Dayz
tournament in June. The 16U team coached by Bill Becker brought
home three more tourney championships and a second place trophy at the
Storm Dayz tournament.
In the fall of 2011 the Kishwaukee Valley Storm opened their 3500 square
foot hitting/pitching facility. The facility has 3 moveable
hitting cages and six pitching lanes. This facility is
available to Storm players 7 days a week!
2012 brings plenty of new excitement!! With the addition of the
new indoor facility, all seven teams are getting plenty of extra work to
take to the fields in the summer of 2012!!
