On behalf of the Kishwaukee Valley Storm Softball organization, we would like to thank each of the young athletes that attended our tryouts over the past two days. We are humbled by the sheer number of young ladies that have shown interest in our program and were extremely impressed by the talent level that we had the opportunity to evaluate. Each of the coaches will be diligently working to select roster spots for each of the teams over the course of the next week. With that being said, please understand that we have 2 National tournaments to complete for the 2022-2023 season over the next two weekends, and would like to thank everyone for their patience in advance as we step through this selection process.
IF YOU WERE UNABLE TO ATTEND THE TRYOUTS AND WANT TO BE CONSIDERED, please feel to reach out to us at INFO@KVSTORM.ORG if you would like to schedule a date!! We will do our best to accommodate you prior to finalizing the team selections.
We have 5 young ladies that have been with our program for 6+ years that will age out at the end of this season and will be transitioning to college softball in the fall.
We now have an opening for a pitcher. The ability to compete for a secondary outfield position is a big plus. A utility player that is comfortable playing numerous positions is a huge asset as well!
This will be Coach Steve Heide's 24th season with the program. He will be assisted by Gracyn Gabriel for their 2nd season. We will possibly have others assist as they are available as these three transition into the workforce next summer.
Please reach out directly to Coach Heide by email at sheide@kvstorm.org or by phone at 847-542-1482 to schedule a time to meet if you are interested in joining our team!

7 Ways to Make Today a Better Day:
— Jon Gordon (@JonGordon11) September 29, 2022
1. Look for the good.
2. Appreciate the little things.
3. Be a helper.
4. Tell someone they matter.
5. Give more than you take.
6. Speak words of encouragement and hope (to yourself and others).
7. Believe the best is yet to come.

Storm Dayz 2023 is in the books! Thank you to all the teams and fans for attending our tournament again this year. The NAFA State Champions for 2023 are as follows:
10U- Wisconsin Lightning
12U- Wasco Diamonds JA
14U- Stateline Fury CM
16U- Palatine Stingrays
18U- Midwest Aftershock ES
The first Storm Dayz in quite a while that we got through most of the weekend! Some rain overnight Saturday evening was actually just what was needed! We can't say thank you enough to the Sycamore Park District crew for their help in getting the fields rolled early on Sunday morning for some great playing surfaces for Championship Day! It was a tremendous effort by the entire crew.
Also, none of this can happen without the help of our parent volunteers. They all did a tremendous job maintaining the fields between games all weekend long! To those of you that went above and beyond, THANK YOU!!
Thank you also to the best umpiring crew in the state, the Windy City Umpires. Bob Williams and his Umpires hung around during the delays and are definitely some of the very best!!
Last, but not least, a huge thank you to Jim Varga and Denver Davis for their roles as Tournament Directors. You two made some great decisions on Sunday to move some games around! Thank you two for all your hours of commitment to the tournament!
We are looking forward to seeing all of you again next year at the 24th Annual Storm Dayz Tournament which will be held June 28-30, 2024!!
