Kishwaukee Valley Storm

The Kishwaukee Valley Storm Softball Organization was started in 2001 with the goal of fundamentally improving the talents of our players.  Throughout the years,  the fundamental goals have led to confidence and the confidence has led to championships.

Sunday, october 6.  first games at 9:00 am

3 game round robin.  4 18U teams and 8 16U teams.  Cost $180.00.
We currently have
1 spot open at 18U, the 16U is FULL

All games played on Fields 9-12 at the Sycamore Community Sports Complex on Airport Road in Sycamore, home of the Storm Dayz Tournament.

2020 KV Storm Coaching Staffs

2020 Kishwaukee Valley Storm Coaches

18U- Head Coach Jim Varga.  Coach Varga will enter his 20th season with the Storm organization as a Head or Assistant Coach.  His assistants for the 2020 season will be Tim Simmons and Hannah Weatherly.    Tim is the current head coach of our 16U team this year and has assisted in past years as well.  Hannah played numerous years in the Storm program and played college softball at Clarke University in Dubuque, Iowa.

16U- Head Coach Steve Heide.  Coach Heide will enter his 20th and final season as a Head Coach for the Storm Organization.  He will be joined by Isabel Odom & Brooke English who will be entering their 3rd seasons as assistant coaches.   Isabel & Brooke played numerous years with the organization, played prep ball with the Sycamore Spartans and in college at Kishwaukee Community College.  Also helping out during some winter practices and next summer will be Ally Versluys.   Ally coached with the team this year and also played for the Storm organization, the Sycamore Spartans and is currently enrolled and playing softball for the Indiana Tech Warriors in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

14U- Head Coach Duke Mitchell.  Coach Mitchell will enter his 3rd season as a Head Coach for the Storm Organization.  He will be joined by Faith Roush in her 2nd season as an assistant coach.  Faith played 3 seasons with Storm,  her prep ball at Rochelle Township High School and is currently a member of the Kishwaukee Community College Softball team.

College Scholarships

The USSSA E.A. Ramsey College Scholarship award is reserved for high school students (and USSSA athletes or youth sports officials!) who during the year of application are in their senior year of high school and already accepted into the college of their choice*. USSSA is currently awarding scholarships in Slow Pitch softball, fast pitch softball, baseball, and basketball. Other sports may be added as participation in those sports increases and interest is shown.

Never hurts to fill out as many applications as possible! Here is another for you offered through USSSA. It is the E. A. Ramsey College Scholarship Award.

19th Annual Storm Dayz Information

Thank you to everyone that attended the 19th Annual Storm Dayz Tournament.  We look forward to hosting you again in 2020 for the 20th Annual Tournament.  Please look for the Coaches email in early November.
